ADN Program Details
This Concorde Career Colleges program provides students with the latest training leading to an Associate in Science degree in Nursing. It also prepares students to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Graduates who pass the NCLEX-RN can enter the healthcare workforce as confident, professional, entry-level registered nurses.
The RN is highly skilled and is prepared to function in the roles of provider of care, manager of care, and contributing member of a healthcare team. While at the bedside, the RN is accountable for decisions that impact the healthcare outcomes for the patient. The scope of the RN's practice is defined in individual state statutes.
Applicants who meet all other admission criteria and possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN may be given academic credit for selected nursing courses.
Students in this program are enrolled in general education courses, nursing theory courses, and clinical practice. The nursing courses begin with Foundations courses that introduce students to the practice of nursing, nursing theories, legal and ethical issues in nursing, and basic concepts of patient care. Students then advance through nursing courses that include more complex concepts in patient care and specialty nursing areas such as mental health, maternal-child nursing, and care of pediatric patients.
Students in our Nursing program earn their Associate in Science (AS) degree in 15 months.*
*Program length may vary by campus.
LPN Program Details
Upon completion of the practical nursing program at Concorde Career Colleges, and passing the licensing examination, you can enter the workforce as a competent, skilled nurse. Practical Nurses provide bedside nursing care at the direction of physicians and/or registered nurses. The practice of practical nursing is based on concepts from the physical, biological, and behavioral sciences. Each state has its own nurse practice act, so the scope of practice varies from state to state. We’re here to help you obtain the education and training you need to succeed in this important medical field.
As a licensed professional, the LPN uses the nursing process for patient assessment, to contribute to the nursing diagnosis made by the RN, and for planning, implementation, and evaluation in providing care.
LPNs are integral to nursing. They provide individualized care in a variety of healthcare settings such as acute care, long-term care, home healthcare, and other community healthcare agencies.
Practical Nursing students benefit from extensive hands-on learning. Much of their preparation for nursing focuses on supervised clinical experiences with real clients in real healthcare facilities. This clinical component of education is one of the major strengths of the Practical Nursing program.
Because of the versatility in their study, LPNs are among the most patient-focused members of any healthcare team.
